Clark & Martha: The Fight That Changed Everything

Clark did get to explain everything (albeit offscreen), but bruce first needed to be confronted with his trauma in order to quell his bitterness and vengefulness, and to become receptive to reason. Snyder needed to show the death of the wayne's again to establish that thomas's last word was calling out martha. Then flash forward to the fight scene between superman and batman. The name 'martha' brings bruce back to the reason he became batman in the first place, the thread of tragedy that makes him relate to clark, the idea that he took up the mantle to stop.
