Mineral Spirits Home Depot

I went to replace it and found the current price for mineral spirits to be 8 dollars a gallon! The last refill was a buck a gallon. I know that body shops distill paint to dispose of it and as a source of gun cleaner, but those solvents are much more volatile than mineral spirits.
