Pamibaby's Redemption Arc: Can It Happen?

Almost done with compendium 1 of invincible after watching the show and i started wondering how they were going to do a redemption arc for nolan. In the comic the damage he does kills people but its more like collateral damage. In the show he brutalizes an entire train to make a point, he actively tries to kill as many people as possible. 2) using death as the obvious out rather than as something that might be part of the process but doesn't give them an easy out. It makes redemption arcs one of the most compelling narratives in any kind of media, and also one of the most popular ones.

I dont want some grand redemption where everyone tearfully forgives endeavor. Whatever journey endeavor has is a slow painful process, much like shotos step by step healing process. Fact is you can do much more with characters if you dont throw them in jail and you as an asian know that domestic abuse is often taken lightly and hidden. Yooo youre comment actually gave me a fan theory idea. What if we have a zuko and zhao moment striker and other possible assassins? Maybe not a whole arc like zukos but throughout season 1, zuko unintentionally helps the gaang by being in constant competition with zhao to capture aang, to the the point hes rescued aang so he could potentially capture him himself. The redemption arc really undermines this when the war criminal, psychotic killer, or gangster gets easy redemption with no real justice or amends for the victims and a cuddly love interest. A better redemption arc would involve the villain accepting the enormity of what they have done and taking their deserved punishment, be it a long term in. A narrative where redemption isnt assumed, its earned. Instead, we get something like the ridiculously unearned arc of kylo ren in star wars: The rise of skywalker. Where a genocidal dillhole with daddy issues and a god complex tries to simultaneously.
