Prepare For The Worst: The Missing Person File

Educate yourself about our nation's mass disaster. Volunteer and advocate for the missing and unidentified. The right to go missing. It is not against the law to be missing. When filing a missing person’s report, be prepared (where possible) with the following information about the person who is missing:

Guidance for when someone is missing, what to do if a person has been kidnapped, steps and support for families of a missing person, a place to turn when a loved one has vanished If the missing person is a child, request that your child's name and identifying information be immediately entered into the national crime information center (ncic) missing person file. Gather a current list of contacts and friends. Get a recent cellphone bill for the missing person. When filing a missing person’s report, be prepared (where possible) with the following information about the person who is missing: Name, age, home address, and employment information.
