I recently bought an item listed on mercari, seller was a scammer sent me a wrapper of candy instead of the actual item. I thought no big deal i should be covered on their consumer buyer. Dec 11, 2021 · that's how they scam. They need that delivery status to get funds released. They send an empty box to a random address in the same zip and hope buyers don't pay attention.
This is a known scam. Since you filed a dispute with paypal it may take longer to get your refund but they can ban the seller account so they don’t scam anyone else.
