I recently moved to sf after contacting 24 different places, 3 were scams. 2 of those scams were from craigslist, i gave up on that site and used apartments. com, zillow. com, & ziprent. Craigslist is still good, but just be weary of too good to be true type deals, which are usually scams. Most independent, mom and pop landlords still use this site.
